About Kellybee: The Abridged Version…

Hello!  My name is Kelly B. (Kellybee, get it?), and I live in the wonderful city of Minneapolis.  I am married to Sean, the love of my life, and we’ve been together for 7 years.  Almost 4 years ago, we adopted Jetta from Heading Home K9 Rescue. She’s a 5-year-old Black Lab/Australian Shepherd cross, and she loves to go for walks.  We live in a 100+ year old home in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis, 4 blocks from Lake Harriet, and a mile from Lake Calhoun.

In early 2010, after years of saying I wasn’t a runner, I decided to train for my first 5k in September 2010.  I’m a slow runner, but I was hooked on the energy of races after the first one.  I did my first 10K in early 2011, my first half in June 2011, and completed Grandma’s Marathon in June 2012.  I have also discovered the allure of multisport events, with 2 Minneapolis Duathlons under my belt (2011 & 2012) and I am an Iron Girl (Bloomington Duathlon 2012).

I checked off distances through 2012, and a hip injury with biomechanical shortcomings has sidelined me into 2014.  I am in physical therapy to learn to walk correctly, then we’ll tackle running again.

I wasn’t able to complete my big goal for turning 40 in 2014 (the YWCA Women’s Triathlon), but am hoping to do so for 2015.

In the absence of trying to quiet my mind through running, I am instead going to focus on what it is saying by delving into how to make a great life even better in 2015.

I’m an Iron Girl (2012)!

Love this doggie!

Hey just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading correctly.
I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two
different browsers and both show the same outcome.
