I have finished week 11!
I did 2 out of 3 workouts outside last week, which did wonders for my self-esteem. My mileage is lower when I am not on the treadmill, but the inclines and hills build my strength.
I ended up doing a workout on Friday on the treadmill that included 2 minutes more of jogging than my schedule had planned. I plugged the Monday schedule into my Garmin and copied it to Wed and Fri, not realizing that Fri was supposed to be the comparatively easier day in the cycle, just to give me a break. So, it was nice to see that I could do 3 workouts with 12 min of running each. :) I could take it easier on Monday’s workout, but I won’t.
I’m going to push things a little in week 12. I had been breaking my workouts into quarters, and this week I’m going to break them into thirds. So I’ll be running 3 intervals of 4 min each. We’ll see how I handle the shift. If it’s disastrous on Monday, I’ll go back to quarters, but I’m curious to see how I do with it.
I just watched the film Spirit of the Marathon this afternoon. An absolutely amazing film. Incredibly inspirational for me. I’m nowhere near a marathon, but it’s making me want to push myself in next week’s workouts.
